When you sign in at the model, that card can register the on-site rep as your agent for that community. It's a quiet step most buyers don't notice, and it's what decides who is on your side at the table.
They're helpful, but their job is to sell that builder's homes at that builder's terms. They don't negotiate the options list or the incentive on your behalf. Without your own advisor, no one at the table is measuring the deal against every other builder.
